I tried to seek a fashion sale representative in NY by internet searching before, but almost could not find any one within 3 years, which means garment sale reps rarely use internet, as same as what this blog said, they are behind new technology.

wow, I was just happy at this point to find a rep that wasn’t drunk in the showroom, too depressed to get out of bed, being evicted from his apartment, phone disconnected, dwi, you name it! I actually CHOSE a 70 yo woman (and family) because they seemed NORMAL and when I vetted them the comments were mostly all very positive. So far she has more energy than all the guys I dealt with before but now this gives me a new angle to worry about!! I have actually tried to listen to my reps but I too am finding their advice all over the place and am beginning to feel I need to stand my ground. This has been the most challenging part of the business for me.

Jasmin, I agree about Linkdin. I am in the process of researching sales reps for the moment.
I am analyzing different sales reps and I use Linkdin to find more info about them (some).
When I google the names the Facebook sometimes comes up with a picture and that’s a good way to find out if the person is younger or not.
Your summary Kathleen is giving a good direction for what would be the best combination.

I don’t know what the problem is. Btw, the site itself is fine. It was loading normally at work yesterday, loaded fine on the iphone last night but this morning, on my mac, I’m getting EXACTLY the trouble you describe. At home we have two isps, comcast and qwest. I couldn’t get the correct home page with either on the Mac. However, Eric connected with a Linux box and one of the PC desktops and tried both ISPs and he got the correct page every time with each variable. Are you using a Mac?

From a technology perspective, you may find the tips in an NZ motivational speakers newsletter useful http://www.successis.co.nz/newsletter.htm. They are super simple ways to use current technology, and very minimum effort, maximum return, focussed for small business. If you are a bit geeky technically, it isn’t for you 80-90% of the time, it is aimed at people who don’t have much experience with using computers to manage and generate business. It may be useful to some of you (and maybe to some of your sales reps!)

Another query, do you all use Linked in http://www.linkedin.com? Being business focussed, it is less ’social’ but can be a great tool to find people, skills, and get references, plus groups are quite useful too.
