Its so educational to attend the shows in Vegas. There are so many shows there at once? Magic, Pool, Moda, Curve the lingerie show, etc.

Kathleen, I need to join the forum again, can you give me specific instructions (again) on how to pay?

Thanks.

I can think of a lot of reasons.

1. Hanging out in the booth for awhile will give you an idea of what buyers have to say about your products. They may use comparatives from lines like yours -which you'll then go investigate.

2. You'll have the opportunity to see trends/changes in fit evolution from complementary lines.

3. You can shop competing lines to see innovation in design, methods of construction and fit they are using that may be advantageous for your company to consider.

4. You can see new materials and how they're being used and constructed.

5. You'll have the opportunity to see the considerable array of new books, magazines, supplier data sheets etc, you might not have known about otherwise. The technical is not a strength of the show but I manage to pick up plenty pursuing circuitous searching after the fact.

6. You gain a much better understanding of where the market is heading and can contribute to making that happen (and being able to articulate it in other terms).

People like us see totally different things and it's useful. Maybe your employer fears you'll want to attend every show here on out and are concerned with the expense. I would think that once every two or three years would be good enough.

Great spreadsheet, I used it last year to help with the Merch calendar. I've never attended Magic, management isn't exactly sure what I would get out of it. Any reason why the Tech director and fit specialist should go?
