If you are going to the show and want to meet up, please forward your cell number. Otherwise, I will be attending this seminar below if you want to meet up. Robert is supposed to be really good. I am 5'5", hgt/wgt proportionate, long hair (braided probably), 45 and wear glasses. I don't have plans for afterward at this time, maybe we could go eat or something.

Date: Tuesday February 13, 2007
Start Time: 4:00 PM
End Time: 5:00 PM
Location: Las Vegas Convention Center, Room N261
Speaker: Robert Silverstone , Silverstone Consulting Group
Turning over sales staff can be a costly undertaking. Relationships and training take time and money to establish. In this seminar you will learn techniques to bring out the best in your existing sales people and how to motivate them to perform as a team, while increasing your company's bottom line. This seminar is a must for employers what want to bring out the best in their sales people.

I doubt I'll be going next year Colleen but everybody needs to go to Mecca at some point so you should consider it. Previously, people had mentioned a group of us meeting up this time but I haven't heard from many. Maybe ten or so. My friend Sally is coming, we're sharing a room. If any of you are going, email me and include your cell. I think the preliminary plan is meeting after select seminars since many seem to be interested in the same ones. I'll post once I slog over to the site.

I still haven't gotten my badge.

I am excited to read a report about the shows and their relevance to small D-E's. Thanks for attending; I appreciate it. If you think it's worthwhile, perhaps a group of us can attend next year.

Who are you and what have you done with Kathleen? Marathon-running I can buy, easy, but you've been jetting around like mad hanging out with NTs,

Patternmakers are never NTs, not good pattern makers anyway. It's easier hanging around them, they also have generally lousy eye contact and nobody's rude enough to mention it. Still, running does a lot towards increasing my tolerance for stimulation. Supposedly, running is really good for executive functioning too. The benefit appears to be cumulative rather than incumbent upon a daily dose thing.

Using ear plugs is something that helps as much if not more. Wearing those in public places keeps me very calm. Normally I'd be over stimulated and unable to calm down after a doctor's visit or some other kind of atypical activity for the day but wearing ear plugs is like taking a valium and with no side effects. Earplugs don't knock out the ambient noise entirely but they muffle it. I don't even care if people look at me funny when I'm wearing them anymore.

(Someone who can't stand going into a store to buy a tee-shirt attending MAGIC?)

I'm not looking forward to this. At all. Actually, I was kind of hoping I could sneak this by me, the impending trip thing until the last minute so I wouldn't freak about it and which will explain why I won't be talking much about it beforehand. I did that going to LA, pretended I didn't know I had to go on a trip until 2 hours before I got on the plane and of course, I forgot the important stuff like underwear and pajamas.

WHOA! Let's just back the truck up here for a minute. Y'all should NOT suppose for even one minute that "jet-setting" and "having fun" are anywhere near the same thing in Kathleen's lexicon.

The marathon was for personal reasons, but these other trips are taken out of a sense of duty to YOU. Why do you think she is so ga-ga over that video conferencing system at PatternWorks? That's a technology that would let her take these trips virtually, without having to spend one night away from home.

We have tequila and earplugs and we use them!*

* Earplugs for airplanes, tequila for medicinal purposes.

Ha, Alison! I was thinking along the same lines. Wow, Kathleen! You really are starting to become the jet-setter. Sounds like you're having fun! :-)

(I enjoy reading about your experiences when you have time to post. I also enjoy the co- bloggers, who have been doing an excellent job.)

Who are you and what have you done with Kathleen?

Marathon-running I can buy, easy, but you've been jetting around like mad hanging out with NTs, participating in their activities and appearing to enjoy yourself, and then, rather than going home and crawling under your covers with a massive headache for six months, immediately going back for more. (Someone who can't stand going into a store to buy a tee-shirt attending MAGIC?)

If this is what marathon-running does for/to a person, then I need to think about it myself. Seriously.

We were really considering boothing at the eco show, but just can't swing it yet. It looks really really interesting and I wish we could just drive down to see.

We'll be in Vegas for ABC in September though, so if anyone wants to plan ahead, at least one drink is on me.
