Kathleen, I live in Vermont. I'm glad to hear SevenDays interviewed you. They are a free, weekly paper that comes out on Wednesdays, so I'll grab a copy and hopefully the story will be on their online site too. |

Kiki, did that appear in the print copy too?
There is someone on etsy who was interviewed on-camera for the Columbus, OH NBC station. I know it aired yesterday, as another etsy member said she saw it, but I can't find a copy of the video on the station website. |

Yes, it's in the print copy as well. I've already recieved a few phone calls from local people asking what they can do - I referred them to the NBD site. |

I wrote to NPR and gave a brief outline via their website, but have yet to hear anything at this point.
On Monday I intend to contact my local NBC, ABC and CBS affiliates, and write op-ed letters in the Concord Monitor and the Union Leader. We'll see. |

I posted a letter today to Martha Stewart. Love her or hate her, she has contacts, and not only that she had a guest toymaker on her show from etsy the other day, so she should be at least some what in tune to our plight as manufacturers.
Please know that my letter includes dilemmas for large and small manufacturers alike, and likely to put many companies out of business.
The letter is similar in tone to one I posted to my congressmen, with changes reflecting her specific stake in this whole thing. I won't repost (redundant!), but would be happy to email it to any of you who care to look at it.
I think this address worked, as it hasn't gotten bounced back to me yet: marthastewart@marthastewart.com . I'll check to make sure it went through.

Any word on the Washington Post article? That could really give this movement some traction! |

A couple updates.
I was interviewed for an article in Make magazine. I am not the primary source. It is anticipated this will be on their website soon and in the january issue.
[amended to add link] Rick Woldenberg will be on Fox on Wednesday. Don't know more than that. You'll have to help me out here, since I can't even turn on the TV.
[amended to add link] Rob says one of his customers was interviewed for a story on NPR for thursday. I'm guessing they're not a regular listener because the show wasn't mentioned. No matter, I listen to ME and ATC.
[amended]Another woman Katie Steurnagle is being filmed at her location for the NBC affiliate. You can see it here.
Still no sign of the washington post article.

I emailed Rick about the WP article. He said it was still to be run and the reporter was going to let him know when it was to happen. Too many other news stories I guess!
And that SevenDays story should run tomorrow. I'll post a link if I see it on their website, but I'll definitely grab a copy of the paper tomorrow when I'm out. |
